According to news on the evening of August 16, Beijing time, Singapore Internet giant Sea (NYSE: SE) today released its results for the second quarter of 2022, which ended June 30. Sea's total revenue in the second quarter was $2.9 billion, up 29.0% from $2.3 billion a year earlier, according to the results. The net loss was $931.2 million, compared with a net loss of $433.7 million in the same period last year. Without GAAP, the net loss was $569.8 million, compared with a net loss of $321.2 million in the same period last year.

Second quarter results:

Total revenue was $2.9 billion, up 29.0% from $2.3 billion a year earlier.

Revenue costs were $1.9 billion, up 37.2% from $1.3 billion in the same period last year.

Overall operating expenses were $1.927 billion, compared with $1.265 billion in the same period last year.

Of this total, sales and marketing expenditure was $1 billion, up 5.7 per cent from $900 million in the same period last year.

General and administrative expenses amounted to $476 million, an increase of 95.9 per cent compared with $243 million in the same period last year.

Spending on R & D was $370.9 million, up 115.0% from $172.6 million in the same period last year.

The net loss was $931.2 million, compared with a net loss of $433.7 million in the same period last year.

The operating loss was $837 million, compared with an operating loss of $334 million in the same period last year.
