On the evening of August 16, Thunderbolt announced its unaudited financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2022. According to the financial report, Thunderbolt's total revenue in the second quarter was $78.3 million, an increase of 41.9% over the same period last year, in line with expected revenue guidelines. Based on general accounting standards (GAAP), net profit for the quarter was $6 million, compared with $5.4 million last quarter.

According to the financial report, Xunlei Live and other Internet value-added services generated revenue of $24.5 million in the second quarter, an increase of 106.1% over the same period last year. Revenue from membership subscription services was $25.4 million, an increase of 11.6% over the same period last year. As of June 30, 2022, the number of member users was about 4.46 million, of which Thunderbolt super members accounted for 35% of the total.

In the cloud computing business, the sector's revenue was $28.3 million, up 38.1% from the same period last year, but decreased month-on-month due to exchange rate fluctuations during the reporting period.

In the current quarter, Thunderbolt spent $16 million on research and development, accounting for 20.4 per cent of total revenue; last quarter it was $16.3 million, accounting for 20.6 per cent of total revenue. As of June 30, 2022, the company held cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments of $259.9 million.
