Based on the above vision, Ericsson announced six areas of innovation, including digital twinning, holographic communications, hybrid learning, immersion experience, net zero emissions, and scientific and technological innovation.

Among them, Zhang Yongtao believes that holographic communication is moving from science fiction to reality. He revealed that Ericsson's internal innovation project has made a relatively simple holographic communication, using a camera with lidar, 3D detection function to generate a data source, and then connecting AR glasses through a mobile phone to produce a holographic effect.

"this approach actually makes holographic communication from science fiction to reality, and this use case already has the ability to be quasi-commercial." Zhang Yongtao said that in the next stage, applications such as AR and holographic communications are expected to break out in the field of to C.

Zhang Yongtao summed up the road of network evolution in the next decade into three ways, including a solid foundation, that is, laying the foundation for the future while delivering solutions to short-term problems, and realistic exploration. continue to explore strategic technology areas while achieving standardization and interoperability; future research to promote collaborative research to guide, stimulate and plan long-term technological development.
