CTOnews.com learned that on July 19, the National Energy Administration released national power industry statistics from January to June. By the end of June, the country's installed power generation capacity was about 2.44 billion kilowatts, an increase of 8.1 percent over the same period last year. Of this total, the installed capacity of wind power is about 340 million kilowatts, an increase of 17.2 percent over the same period last year, and the installed capacity of solar power is about 340 million kilowatts, an increase of 25.8 percent over the same period last year.

On July 1, the National Energy Administration held a video conference on the analysis of the situation of renewable energy development and construction in June. From January to May 2022, the national installed capacity of renewable energy was 42.81 million kilowatts, accounting for 81% of the new power generation installed in the country; the national renewable energy generation exceeded 1 trillion kilowatt-hours, reaching 1.06 trillion kilowatt-hours; the national renewable energy power generation projects under construction exceeded 200 million kilowatts, and the project reserve is relatively sufficient. The utilization rates of hydropower, wind power and photovoltaic power in major river basins across the country are 99.4%, 95.6% and 97.4%, respectively.

The first batch of large-scale wind power photovoltaic bases focusing on desert, Gobi and desert areas are progressing smoothly, with more than 90% of the construction started, and the second batch of base projects have been launched. However, it should also be noted that in the process of the development and construction of new energy projects, the synchronous construction of the source network of some projects needs to be strengthened, the implementation of policies in some areas is not in place, it is difficult to implement the project land, and the grid connection process of power grid enterprises needs to be optimized. the coordination of the industrial chain needs to be strengthened.
