August 15, according to foreign media reports, Mercedes-Benz announced the expansion of its battery supply partnership with lithium-ion battery manufacturer CATL.

Ningde era was founded in 2011, headquartered in Ningde, Fujian. The company focuses on the research, development, production and sales of power battery systems and energy storage systems for new energy vehicles, and is committed to providing solutions for new energy applications around the world.

In early August 2020, Ningde Times announced that it would become the leading supplier of Mercedes-Benz batteries. The strategic agreement covers all areas of power battery technology, including batteries and modules for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and integral battery packs for its light business vehicle products.

Foreign media said that since 2020, Mercedes-Benz and Ningde era have been working together, and the scale of cooperation will only be further expanded.

Recently, Ningde Times announced that it intends to invest in the construction of a new energy battery industry base in Debrecen, Hungary, with a total investment of no more than 7.34 billion euros.

According to foreign media reports, the new plant to be built by Ningde Times in Hungary is expected to provide batteries for the next generation of Mercedes-Benz models, and Mercedes-Benz will become the first and largest customer of the plant at the initial capacity scale.
