Despite the noise in the short-term semiconductor market, considering the long-term development of the company, MediaTek will not only reward employees with large dividends, but will also recruit more than 2000 R & D talents this year, Taiwan's Economic Daily reported today. In this regard, some industry insiders said that in order to continue to develop new products, semiconductor companies will not reduce the recruitment of core R & D personnel.

Earlier, MediaTek had adjusted its annual growth forecast for the full year in the face of the shrinking smartphone market. Specifically, MediaTek lowered its original growth of 20% to a high ten-digit (high-teens) percentage, about 17% to 19%. Compared with other companies that may produce negative growth, MediaTek's performance is relatively sound.

CTOnews.com learned that MediaTek released its July earnings report on August 10. The financial report shows that MediaTek's July sales were 40.89 billion New Taiwan dollars (about 9.241 billion yuan), with July revenue up 1.31 percent. Cumulative sales in the first seven months reached 339.331 billion New Taiwan dollars (about 76.689 billion yuan), an increase of 23.82 percent over the same period last year.

In addition, MediaTek's combined revenue in the first six months of 2022 was 298.44 billion New Taiwan dollars (about 67.447 billion yuan), an increase of 27.7 percent over the same period in 2021 and a record high for the same period.
