CTOnews.com8 March 15, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold / Flip 4 folding phones were officially released on August 10. The latter have larger batteries and are equipped with Snapdragon 8 + processors with lower power consumption. So how do these two phones actually perform in terms of battery life? Recently, TechDroider, a well-known foreign blogger, has tested the battery life of these two Samsung folding phones.

TechDroider compared Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 (4400mAh), Galaxy Z Flip 4 (3700mAh), Galaxy S22 Ultra (5000mAh), iPhone 13 Pro Max (4352mAh), one plus 10 Pro (5000mAh) and Xiaomi 12s Ultra (4860mAh). Although the battery capacity of Galaxy Z Fold / Flip 4 is lower than that of Galaxy S22 Ultra, the battery life of the first two is still longer than that of Galaxy S22 Ultra.

TechDroider tested the six phones to the death limit, including games, web browsing, 1080p 60-frame video playback, social software, short videos and recorded videos. The refresh rate and brightness are the same in the test, and other conditions are as follows:

The results showed that the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra was the first to turn off the phone, which lasted for 8 hours and 56 minutes, and the temperature on the back of the phone reached 50.4 ℃. The second was Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, which lasted for 9 hours and 4 minutes, with a temperature of 42.1 °C. the third was Galaxy Z Fold 4, which lasted for 9 hours and 18 minutes, with a temperature of 39.7 °C.

Judging from the three Samsung home-made products, these two folding phones have longer battery life and lower temperatures than the Galaxy S22 Ultra, thanks to Snapdragon 8 +, and TSMC's 4nm process is still stronger than Samsung's 4nm process.

Of the remaining three phones, the one plus 10 Pro lasted only one minute longer than the Galaxy Z Fold 4 (9 hours and 19 minutes), but ran at a higher temperature (45.1 ℃), followed by the Xiaomi 12s Ultra, which was just released in early July, with a battery life of 9 hours and 38 minutes at 44.1 ℃, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max had the longest battery life of 10 hours and 35 minutes at 40.5 ℃.

CTOnews.com learned that recently, Jacob Chen, vice president of Samsung in Taiwan, said that supported by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Plus first-generation processor, the new Galaxy folding screen phone can solve the overheating and performance limitations of the previous generation of products. He also expects global shipments of folding screen models to reach 20 million in 2022.
