On August 12, the Guangdong Department of Commerce organized a video conference on the management of scrapped motor vehicle recycling and disassembly industry.

In order to strengthen the management of the scrapped vehicle recycling and disassembly industry, the Guangdong Department of Commerce invited the head of Guangdong material Circulation Association and the head of Guangdong scrapped motor vehicle recycling and disassembly enterprises to attend the meeting, Guangdong Daily reported yesterday.

The meeting pointed out that in the first half of this year, Guangdong Province recovered and dismantled 360000 scrapped motor vehicles. Of these, 191000 scrapped motor vehicles were normally recovered (excluding confiscated vehicles seized by relevant departments), an increase of 37.9% over the same period last year. 115000 scrapped cars were normally recycled, an increase of 60.9% over the same period last year. The meeting showed that this growth was mainly due to the impact of local trade-in subsidy policies.

In addition, in the first half of this year, the recycling of scrapped new energy vehicles in Guangdong Province increased by 132% compared with the same period last year. This means that with the continuous development and transformation of enterprises, the overall level of the industry has been greatly improved.

CTOnews.com learned that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology held a symposium on comprehensive utilization of power batteries for new energy vehicles on August 1. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said that it would study and formulate "measures for the management of recycling of power batteries for new energy vehicles" and standards urgently needed by the industry, improve the recycling system of power batteries, and improve the level of recycling of power batteries.
