CTOnews.com, August 14, just days after Apple reintroduced the battery percentage icon on its latest iPhone, developer Rony Fadel updated the Batteries battery application, adding a new option to enable the battery percentage icon that looks like iOS 16 in the Mac menu bar.

Like iPhone, the battery percentage is displayed in the Mac battery icon to maintain a consistent appearance on the iOS and macOS. You can disable the existing battery lights on the Mac in the system Settings application of the Battery menu.

Starting with the iOS 16 Beta 5 preview, bangs iPhone users can once again view the percentage of batteries in the status bar without having to swipe down to open the control center. With the exception of iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 13 mini, Standard Edition iPhone 11, and iPhone XR, most bangs iPhone can use this feature. Apple may extend this icon to other iPhone in a future iOS 16 beta.

When iPhone X was released in 2017, Apple removed the ability to view battery percentages in the status bar because the capacity of the status bar was too limited to display regular battery percentage numbers and symbols.

Batteries for Mac allows users to view the percentage of batteries for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, Beats, and other Bluetooth devices in the macOS menu bar. The application can also provide low power notifications for Mac devices. The app costs $8.99 in the United States and is also available as part of the Setapp subscription package.
