CTOnews.com August 14 news, nearly a month after the launch, Apple's new M2 MacBook Air demand continues to rise, notebook supply is relatively short. According to the Apple Online Store, customers face up to three weeks of waiting for basic configurations only.

In some regions, Apple's base MacBook Air model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage shipped within two to three weeks. Other configurations with different storage and memory options are expected to ship in one to two weeks.

The delay is inappropriate because Apple is currently preparing for this fall's back-to-school promotion. The new M2 MacBook Air may be very attractive to students, thanks to its slim design and the battery life and performance improvements supported by the M2 chip.

Apple has faced supply-chain constraints in recent months, but the situation appears to be easing. Except for the long wait for the new M2 MacBook Air, most other Macs in Apple's product line are still ready to ship without weeks of delays.

The highest-end Mac Studio and the iMac 24-inch with the M1 chip are two exceptions. According to Apple's online store, Mac Studio expects delivery times of a month or more, while customers looking for an iMac will face three to four weeks of shipping delays.

Apple's Mac business was severely constrained in the fiscal third quarter. Apple CEO Tim Cook said Mac supply was so low this quarter that it was difficult to gauge actual demand for Apple's newest computers. Apple previously launched the M1 / M2 new Mac device in response to the back-to-school season promotion and laid a good foundation for the October quarter.

Apple's Mac revenue fell to $7.3 billion in the fiscal third quarter of 2022 from $8.2 billion a year earlier.
