Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, August 14 (Xinhua)-- recent reports indicate that the last 3.5mm headphone Jack on Apple's salable iOS and iPadOS devices will be removed when iPad 10 is launched later this year.

Renderings obtained by MySmartPrice from accessory manufacturers show that Apple's 10th-generation "iPad" will feature a thinner new design, a flat border and a raised rear camera. The report reiterates some existing rumors about iPad 10, including larger displays, USB-C ports, A14 bionic chips, 5G support, etc.

In addition to these design changes, Apple plans to remove the 3.5mm headphone Jack from the iPad, which shows no sign of this configuration. As Apple unifies the design of the iPad Pro, iPad Air and the latest iPad mini, it will eventually remove the 3.5mm headphone Jack completely.

Apple began removing the 3.5mm headphone Jack from its iPhone 7 device in 2016. The last remaining iPhone with a 3.5mm headphone Jack is the iPhone SE generation, which was discontinued in 2018, and the last iOS device with a 3.5mm headphone Jack, the iPod touch 7, was discontinued earlier this year. With the launch of the iPad mini 6 last year, the entry-level iPad became the only remaining iPad model with a 3.5mm headphone Jack.

Apple is expected to release the iPad 10 and a new iPad Pro model with a M2 chip later this year. Bloomberg Mark Gurman recently reported that Apple plans to release an official version of iPadOS 16 to the public in October, so the iPad 10 and new iPad Pro models are also likely to be released in October.

"it is revealed that the official release of Apple iPadOS 16 has been postponed to October, while the official release of iOS 16 is still available in September."
