CTOnews.com August 13, the latest CINNO Research report shows that in the first quarter of 2022, the semiconductor equipment business revenue of listed companies worldwide totaled US $23.4 billion, up 4.4% from the same period last year and down 9.4% from the previous quarter.

Among them, the American company Applied Materials (AMAT) is far ahead in the first place, the Japanese company Tokyo Electronics (TEL) is in the second place, the American company LAM is in the third place, and the Dutch company ASML, the absolute leader of lithography machines, is in the fourth place.

According to the report, among the top 10 companies by region, there are five Japanese companies, accounting for half of the seats, three American companies and two Dutch companies, of which three American companies are in the top five.

In terms of revenue, the revenue of the semiconductor business exceeds 500 million US dollars in a single quarter to rank in the top 10, especially the top four semiconductor businesses whose single-quarter revenue has exceeded 3.9 billion US dollars.

CTOnews.com learned that CINNO Research said that Applied Materials (AMAT) is the world's largest semiconductor equipment manufacturer, semiconductor business can almost run through the entire semiconductor process, semiconductor products include thin film deposition (CVD, PVD, etc.), ion implantation, etching, rapid thermal treatment, chemical and mechanical leveling (CMP), measurement and testing equipment. Revenue from the Q1 semiconductor business rose 13.0 per cent from a year earlier, down 1.0 per cent from a month earlier.

ASML is the world's largest lithography equipment manufacturer, and it is also the only EUV lithography equipment manufacturer that can provide 7nm advanced processes in the world. Revenue from the Q1 semiconductor business fell 25.2% from a year earlier, down 34.6% from a month earlier. It said that it was mainly due to rapid shipments but required customers to complete factory verification to confirm revenue, so the year-on-year figures were all down.
