Google Search will build on existing movie, TV and music support to show users which cloud streaming services have specific video games and play certain games directly in search results.
For years, Google Search has been the aggregator of global streaming services. If you want to watch a particular show, you can use Google Search or Google TV to get accurate information about the streaming service that the show belongs to. A search for The Simpsons, for example, reveals that the show can be streamed from a variety of apps, including Disney + and Hulu, and purchased from multiple stores.
Over the past few days, Google Search has expanded this feature to include support for video games. However, instead of including various console storefronts or links to many PC game retailers, Google focuses on cloud gaming.

Bryant Chappel seems to have noticed the change first. He found that the changes weren't limited to Stadia, Google's own cloud-gaming service. He said the feature also appears to work with cloud games from platforms such as Amazon Luna, Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia GeForce Now.
Of course, this feature still has limitations, users first need to log in to an account associated with these cloud gaming services, otherwise they will be led to the registration page, and there may still be many intermediate prompts. Also, this feature doesn't seem to work for all games.
But for Stadia and Xbox Cloud Gaming, at least with a click in Google search results, you can navigate to your favorite cloud gaming service site, select your game, and press the "Start Game" button you'll find there.
It's unclear when or if Google will fully roll out the feature. Some people initially saw the feature, but then discovered that it suddenly disappeared and no longer appeared in Google search results. Then someone saw it through a Google Workspace account, even though it wasn't linked to any cloud gaming service and couldn't play Google Stadia at all.
Chappell confirmed that he still sees Google's tests at his home in Austin, Texas. Google is supposedly using this feature for A / B testing to see how people react. Or, it could be sloppy, like GeForce Now in 2020, launching it without permission from the game developer.
