CTOnews.com, August 11, according to the website of the State-owned assets Supervision and Administration Commission, the construction of the largest offshore wind power booster station in China, undertaken by CNOOC's CNOOC project, began on August 5 at the Qingdao site of the CNOOC project.

CTOnews.com learned that the project is located in the sea area near Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province, with an installed capacity of about 1000 megawatts and an estimated annual generating capacity of 3.8 billion kilowatt hours, saving about 467000 tons of standard coal consumption and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 1.24 million tons per year.

According to reports, the project is another offshore wind power construction project undertaken by CNOOC following the start of China's first far-reaching offshore floating wind power development and demonstration project in May.

With the construction of offshore wind power moving towards deep water, its related equipment and facilities also tend to be large-scale, and the total weight of the booster station continues to set a new record. The booster station in this project weighs more than 6800 tons.
