CTOnews.com, Nov. 23 (Xinhua)-- Sony is expanding its lineup of medical LCD monitors with two new models for users to choose from-the LMD-XH550TC (55 inches) and the LMD-XH320TC (32 inches). These two new models can be used in combination with surgical endoscopes, microscopes and surgical robots to achieve accurate visualization in operating rooms, surgical centers, and training and educational environments. The two monitors use Sony's own area dimming technology to improve visibility through increased control and precise restoration of highlight and dark details, with a detail-rich 4K resolution, HDR (wide dynamic range) and wide color gamut, and support for 3D and 2D displays. Combined with other powerful features, such as improved image quality, high contrast, reduced halo of blood and tissue structure, upgraded advanced image multiple enhancement, new compatibility interface options and integrated friendly design, become an ideal choice for operating room integration.

The new monitor screen uses Sony's proprietary area dimming technology for high brightness (1500 cd / m ²: LMD-XH550TC,1750 cd / m ²: LMD-XH320TC) and high contrast (more than 1, 000, 000), with a fine 4K resolution (3840 x 2160), and support for SD, 3D and HD enhancements. When receiving HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) signals from a compatible imaging system, HDR (wide dynamic range) can be achieved, and HLG is selected in the monitor Gamma setting mode to improve visibility by increasing control and precise restoration of highlight and dark details. The advanced LCD panel and signal processing technology of the new monitor support highly consistent and accurate wide gamut reduction (support for ITU-R BT.2020).

In addition, the two monitors greatly reduce reflection glare and obtain clear, high-contrast images in bright operating rooms. LMD-XH550TC and LMD-XH320TC achieve high definition and 4K 3D effects, enhancing the level, texture, depth of field, color expression and immersion of the display target-all key information in surgical settings. The two monitors also integrate the upgraded A.I.M.E. (advanced image multiple enhancement) technology to enhance structure, color, contrast, and shadows.

LMD-XH550TC and LMD-XH320TC can support multiple input interfaces, including SDI (12G / 3G), DP, HDMI, DVI-D and AC / DC input (for LMD-XH320TC), making them ideal for operating room integration.

LMD-XH320TC interface CTOnews.com learned that LMD-XH550TC and LMD-XH320TC can display 3D and 2D signals in high definition and 4K. Multiple display modes such as side-by-side, picture-in-picture (PIP), picture-in-picture (POP) or image flip 180 degrees are supported. 3D Picture-in-Picture (PIP) / Picture-out-of-Picture (POP) multi-picture display options include dual display of main 3D / 2D and secondary 2D images, and three 2D three-picture displays.

In addition, the monitor's clone output feature allows the user to reproduce the same picture of the main monitor on the second monitor, such as A.I.M.E. Or picture-in-picture (PIP), which is very useful in surgical training and classroom teaching, so that users can easily record what they are watching. The resolution of the clone output can be 4K or HD depending on your usage.

The two new models of monitors have a smooth surface and a streamlined rear design that allows users to easily wipe liquid and gel on LCD panels, control buttons and rear covers to ensure a high standard of disinfection and cleaning. In addition, it also has an intuitive navigation and installation-friendly cable connection, as well as a pedal switch remote control function that can be realized through a small stereo Jack to facilitate hands-free menu switching.

LMD-XH550TC and LMD-XH320TC are scheduled to go public on November 23, 2022.
