According to Niu Jing, founder of the Future Institute of Astronautics, FutureX Future Exploration spacecraft is a multi-function orbit transfer vehicle platform (OTV) that has the ability to fly independently in orbit and can stay and serve for a long time. It can carry several micro-satellites to different orbits and can carry different payload modules to carry out space experiments, space debris cleaning and other on-orbit service missions according to needs.

Connect rockets and satellites, connect the ecology upstream and downstream of the whole industrial chain; connect close to deep space, and connect commercial space with future space, thus opening up the imaginative boundaries of the space economy and making future exploration infinitely possible.

According to Future Aerospace, the development of FutureX future exploration spacecraft will provide China's commercial space transportation system with a low-cost, flexible, fast, multi-purpose platform product to open up the last kilometer of rapid satellite networking and precise orbit. Combined with active launch vehicles, FutureX future exploration spacecraft can meet the requirements of multi-satellite orbit deployment in different orbits or networking orbit deployment of multiple satellites in the same orbit, reduce the cost of satellite docking and coordination, reduce the cost of overall constellation deployment, enhance rocket carrying capacity, and accelerate satellite constellation deployment.

According to Future Aerospace, the FutureX Future Exploration spacecraft is expected to make its maiden flight in 2024.
