CTOnews.com, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) Audi's electric revolution continues, and spy photos of the A6 e-tron testing in the Nurburgring have been posted online.

In terms of appearance design, the Audi A6 e-tron will use embedded split headlights, while you can also see that the body shape is integrated with the coupe elements, and the C-pillar sliding back design looks more sporty. Compared with last year's concept model, the mass-production model is equipped with traditional rearview mirrors and flush-mounted door handles.

CTOnews.com learned that the Audi A6 e-tron is based on the Advanced Electric platform (PPE) platform, which will be used in B-Class, C-Class and D-Class cars from 2023. The platform, co-developed with Porsche, is "roughly similar" to the MEB platform, but more advanced because of its 800V technology and a charging capacity of up to 350kW. Audi also hinted that PPE-based vehicles may have features such as air suspension, all-wheel steering and torque vector control.

The performance specifications of the Audi A6 e-tron are still unknown, but the A6 e-tron concept car is equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel drive system that produces a combined output of 469 horsepower and 590lb-ft (800Nm) of torque. The concept car also has a battery pack of about 100kWh and has a range of more than 435mph (700km) on WLTP.

It is not clear whether the powertrain will be available in production models, but Audi has confirmed that there will be several versions of the car, including a "basic version optimized for low energy consumption and high range", which will use a rear motor with a 100km acceleration of seven seconds and a high-performance version of 100km acceleration in less than four seconds.
