Beijing, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) in 2018, an internal survey conducted by Tesla in the company's difficult times showed that employees were worried about the leadership of CEO Elon Musk (Elon Musk) and even called him a tyrant.

In Musk 2018, Tesla was in a dilemma of expanding Model 3 production. Musk said a few years later that Tesla was only a few weeks away from bankruptcy in this ordeal.

On March 2, 2018, Gabriel Toledano (Gabrielle Toledano), then chief human resources officer of Tesla, sent the survey to Ira Ehrenpreis, a member of Tesla's board and chairman of the company's compensation committee. In her email, Toledano pointed out two key issues facing employees: concerns about pay and Tesla's leadership, especially Musk's leadership.

"according to the results of the employee survey," Toledano said in an email, "employees are dissatisfied with pay, especially vice presidents; dissatisfaction with leadership is mainly aimed at Musk."

A selected response to Musk and his management team showed that employees were dissatisfied with his company culture, leadership, affinity and communication, work schedule and dismissal.

Tesla employees called Musk a tyrant and wrote: "Tesla is losing talented and energetic people who really believe in the company's vision and continue to want the company to succeed. Musk is a top technical leader but is widely seen as an inaccessible tyrant. He belittles the contributions of his employees and may fire them on impulse. Employees are the basic unit of the company, but we treat them like other consumptive resources. "

Another employee wrote that they felt that "at any time, I or anyone around me would be fired" and said they did not intend to stay in an "extremely toxic environment" for too long. One employee said Mr Musk's "arrogance" needed to change, while another said people were "bullied by Mr Musk and made unrealistic promises".

Despite some negative comments about Mr Musk, 98 per cent of the employees surveyed said they were "proud of Tesla's influence in the world".
