CTOnews.com, November 22, according to Videocardz, the latest Jon Peddie Research report shows that total GPU shipments (including all platforms and all types of GPU) reached 75.5 million in the third quarter of 2022, down 25.1% from the same period last year, 15.43% for desktop platforms and 30% for notebook platforms, the biggest decline since 2009.

In terms of market share, AMD's overall market share fell-8.5% from the previous quarter, while Intel's market share increased by 10.3% from the previous quarter.

Jon Peddie, president of JPR, said, "the third quarter is usually the highest shipments of GPU and PC suppliers in a year, and although suppliers gave downgrade guidance in the second quarter, the results were much lower than they expected."

CTOnews.com learned that Nvidia RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 will be available in October and November, respectively, and AMD RX 7900 series graphics cards will be available in December. As more new graphics card models of AMD and Nvidia hit the market, the graphics card market may usher in growth.
