Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com November 22 news, Japanese media PC Watch recently conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the fish tank chassis MetalFish PC. MetalFish Y2 PC is a fish tank installed on a Micro-ATX-sized chassis, and many players worry that the heat of PC components such as power and graphics cards will make the fish in a "heating" state.

CTOnews.com learned that considering that this is an interesting combination, Japanese media PC Watch evaluated it for a long time. The mainframe part of the MetalFish Y2 is not very large, only about 12 liters, mainly using compact graphics cards and components for SFF.

After the evaluation of Japanese media PC Watch, the main conclusions are as follows:

There are cracks in the screw hole of the acrylic roof.

Users can choose the heat insulation board of fish tank or RGB LED lamp.

The LED at the top of the fish tank is quite bright and cannot be adjusted-it is not integrated into PC's RGB LED control.

The spattered water from the fish tank may enter the PC chassis through the air hole.

The glass tank weighs 12kg (26.5lb), plus the recommended 10-12L water, which weighs about 24kg (53lb), making it very difficult to move the PC.

Water spills may occur in areas that are often hit by earthquakes, and even minor earthquakes can lead to water spills.

MetalFish provides a white heat shield between the PC on top of the acrylic board and the part of the aquarium. However, this seriously weakens the brightness of the LED lighting belt, otherwise it will shine upward through the water.

During the test, it was observed that the upper part of the Y2 fish tank chassis (aquarium) increased by 1.4 degrees Celsius (from 25 to 26.4) after 30 minutes of operation without an insulation pad. The test seems to be conducted with no water in the fish tank, but if you work on PC for several hours in a row, it's still worrying.
