CTOnews.com, November 22, according to the Taiwan Central News Agency, research institute IC Insights expects that DRAM (dynamic random access memory) revenue will drop by 40% in the second half of the year compared with the first half, and DRAM revenue will decline by 18% for the whole year.

IC Insights said that in order to actively prepare for the peak sales season at the end of the year, the second half of the year is often the peak season for the DRAM market, but the DRAM market is likely to be sluggish in the second half of this year.

CTOnews.com learned that the report pointed out that the weak economy and inflation slowed global demand for personal computers, smartphones and other consumer electronics, which in turn affected the decline in DRAM demand. DRAM revenue is expected to fall to $29.3 billion (about RMB 209.788 billion) in the second half of this year, down 40 per cent from $49 billion in the first half.

According to reports, the three major DRAM factories Samsung, SK Hynix (SK Hynix) and Micron generally believe that inflation weakens consumers' unnecessary spending, coupled with the high inventory level, the DRAM market is inevitable to adjust.
