CTOnews.com, November 22, according to Sinopec Zhongyuan Oilfield, after more than seven months of intense construction, Sinopec's first megawatt demonstration project of hydrogen production from renewable power electrolytic water, namely "Green hydrogen from Green electricity", was successfully completed in Zhongyuan Oilfield, entered the stage of preparation for start-up, and launched a comprehensive sprint for the project to be put into production at the end of the year.

It is reported that the project uses the proton membrane electrolysis water hydrogen production process, there is no pollutant emission in the whole process, and the equipment can be turned on and off, so as to facilitate the local consumption of wind power, photovoltaic power generation and other volatile renewable "green power". After the project is put into production, it is estimated that the annual consumption of renewable power is 25.2 million kilowatt-hours, equivalent to a reduction of more than 2000 tons of carbon dioxide emission. compared with the conventional hydrogen production by alkaline water electrolysis, the project adopts the proton membrane electrolysis water hydrogen production process and produces 1.12 tons of high-purity "green hydrogen" (hydrogen purity 99.9995%) per day.

It is understood that the project is led by Zhongyuan Oilfield and jointly tackled by Dalian Hospital, Guangzhou Engineering and Safety Engineering Institute. Sinopec's first wind power megawatt proton exchange membrane multi-system centralized device for hydrogen production, storage, transportation and filling will be built, a replicable and popularized demonstration project will be formed, and a demonstration and scientific research and innovation platform for the development of renewable energy green hydrogen industry will be built. to provide technical guarantee for the development of green hydrogen industry.
