CTOnews.com November 21, BYD Automotive officially announced that recently, BYD Automotive Industry Co., Ltd. has announced that it will work with Auto Nejma SA, a subsidiary of Morocco's leading dealer group Hakam Family Group. The cooperation will be reached to provide Morocco with new energy passenger cars that are deeply loved by consumers.

BYD said that at present, BYD's new energy vehicles have a footprint in more than 70 countries and regions and more than 400 cities around the world. In the first half of 2022, BYD's new energy vehicle sales exceeded 640000, an increase of more than 300 percent over the same period last year. China's new energy passenger car sales topped the list for nine years in a row.

CTOnews.com learned that BYD entered Morocco as early as 2017 and announced the construction of a new factory in Morocco, mainly responsible for the production of electric passenger cars, buses and trucks. At that time, Wang Chuanfu, chairman of BYD, signed a memorandum of understanding with Moroccan Minister of Industry and Investment Moulay Hafid El Alamy and Moroccan Minister of Finance Mohamed Boussaid in Casablanca. The factory is located in the new technology city of Mohammed VI Tangier, a project developed jointly by the Chinese and Moroccan governments to create a "Silicon Valley" in North Africa.
