CTOnews.com Nov 21, PrintNightmare is a security vulnerability in the Windows print spooler service. The printer spooler service processes print jobs and related protocols on the server and client computers.

In addition to PrintNightmare, there are several printing-related issues that haunt Windows 11 and Windows 10, even the latest version of 22H2. At the end of September, it was reported that adding printers had become a hassle for IT administrators and engineers after updating to Windows 2022 update (version 22H2).

Later, Microsoft also recorded another printer error Bug, that is, the printer settings remain in the default state. As a result, Microsoft enforced compatibility guarantees and blocked feature updates for Windows 11 22H2. Since then, Microsoft has solved the problem and provided updated instructions.

October 21, 2022: a troubleshooting program has been released that will automatically download and resolve this issue on affected devices running Windows 11 22H2. Once the problem with the installed printer is resolved, the safeguards should be removed and users should be able to upgrade to Windows version 11 22H2. Please note that if there are no other safeguards affecting the device, it may take 48 hours to provide an upgrade to Windows 11. Restarting the device and checking for updates may help the troubleshooter apply faster.

November 10, 2022: any printer still affected by this issue can now be resolved automatically when upgrading to the Windows 11 22H2 version. "
