Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
November 21, according to Bloomberg, at least 12 Rivian employees accused Rivian's Illinois plant of violating safety regulations, resulting in a number of injuries, including ear scratches and broken ribs.
Rivian, founded in 2009, is an emerging electric car maker whose investors include Ford, Amazon and Cox. It is considered one of Tesla's most threatening competitors and aims to take advantage of growing consumer and investor demand for electric vehicles.
In the electric vehicle market dominated by Tesla and a few established carmakers, Rivian has emerged rapidly as a strong challenger. Last November, the company launched an IPO, the sixth largest IPO in U.S. History.
Currently, the company operates only one plant in Normal, Illinois, which produces the company's all-electric R1T pickup truck.
In December 2021, Rivian confirmed plans to build a second $5 billion electric car plant in Georgia, which is expected to produce as many as 400000 electric vehicles a year.
In the first half of 2022, the company delivered 5694 cars. In the third quarter of 2022, the company produced and delivered 7363 and 6584 cars, respectively, a new record.
