At present, Tesla is working on the development of fully automatic driving assistance system FSD (Full Self-Driving Computer), using self-developed chips, the integration of high-speed computing, AI and other functions.

Prior to this, Tesla adopted a multi-supplier strategy and issued orders in both TSMC and Samsung. CTOnews.com learned that Tesla's previous generation of driving assist chips were produced by 14nm, mainly in Samsung's Austin factory, which was also known as Hardware 3.0, and then upgraded to the 7nm process.

Judging from the information previously released, the image processing speed of Hardware 3.0is 21 times faster than that of Hardware 2.5and the unit cost of Hardware 3.0is 20% lower than that of Hardware 2.5. moreover, old car owners can upgrade for free.

Among them, the fully autopilot FSD chip independently developed by Tesla can reach 144TOPS, and the eight cameras that support the Full Self Driving Computer chip will complete visual processing.

In addition, there was news that Tesla was working with TSMC to develop the next-generation Hardware platform, with performance three times that of cash.
