Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

According to reports in the morning of November 21, Beijing time, Elon Musk (Elon Musk) will start further layoffs on Twitter as early as Monday, according to people familiar with the matter.

This new round of layoffs is aimed not at technical jobs, but at the company's sales and partner teams, which have been relatively unaffected by previous layoffs.

Musk asked the head of Twitter's sales and collaboration team to agree to fire more employees on Friday, according to people familiar with the matter. Robin Wheeler, head of the Twitter marketing and sales team, and Maggie Suniewick, head of the Twitter partner team, are reported to have been fired for boycotting layoffs.

Wheeler resigned on November 10, but was persuaded by Musk to stay on Twitter. However, she was fired a week later.

Sunnywick moved to Twitter from NBC Global in June this year.

The total number of employees on Twitter has fallen sharply in the past month. On November 4th, a week after Musk took control of Twitter, the company cut its staff by half.

On Thursday, more than half of the remaining 4000 or so employees decided to accept severance pay rather than succumb to Twitter's "extremely hard-core" vision that, according to Mr Musk, employees who choose to stay must accept "long and intensive" jobs.

The wave of resignations from technical positions is particularly common, leaving Twitter busy looking for suitable engineers. In a series of emails sent at midnight Pacific time on Friday, Musk asked to meet with "real software writers" that afternoon.

Wheeler, Sunnywick and Twitter did not comment.
