CTOnews.com, November 20, according to the Guardian, short video platform TikTok has announced a partnership with publishers such as HarperCollins and Bloomsbury in the UK, allowing users to buy books directly through TikTok for the first time.

Harper Collins is one of the largest publishing companies in the world. Bloomsbury has published best-selling novels such as Harry Potter. In addition to large established publishers, TikTok also works with a number of independent bookstores such as Ibada London.

CTOnews.com learned that this is not the first time TikTok has partnered with a book publisher. In September, TikTok announced a partnership with publisher Penguin Random House to launch a new feature that allows users to link directly to the book's page when sharing a book in a video. Earlier, TikTok launched "Summer Reading" with Barnes & Noble, the largest retail bookseller in the United States.

According to the report, TikTok's cooperation with booksellers is based on its book community BookTok. Users spontaneously created this community about books and reading in early 2020. so far, BookTok has become one of the most active communities on TikTok, with videos viewed more than 88 billion times.
