It is also the first set of petroleum coke hydrogen production plant in PetroChina. The unit adopts GE 6.5mpa quench gasification technology and uses petroleum coke, a by-product of the oil refining unit, as raw material. After transformation and purification treatment, hydrogen and fuel gas are supplied to the whole plant, with an annual hydrogen output of 1.6 billion standard cubic meters and an annual fuel gas production of 3.1 billion standard cubic meters. 231.09 tons of petroleum coke is consumed per hour.

Jieyang Daily reported that the smooth commissioning and trial operation of the petroleum coke hydrogen production unit will enable the Guangdong Petrochemical Refining and Chemical Integration Project to form a complete industrial chain to meet the production of diesel, gasoline, aviation coal and other important products, and provide an important prerequisite for Guangdong Petrochemical Company to increase profits.
