AMD officials wrote in the community that all quality analysis of the Zen 4 desktop processor was done at 95 ℃, and that this was the chipmaker's best performance target for several older Ryzen families.

It is said that the bottleneck of the Ryzen 9 5950X is power, not temperature, but the 7950X is the opposite. Thanks to the higher 230W limit, it reaches the temperature limit before the power hits the wall, even if the TDP is set to 105W.

You can see in the comments that under high-intensity full-core workloads (such as CB nT, Blender, etc.), the operating temperature of CPU will remain around 95 ℃, but running the same workload on 5950X may see significantly lower temperatures. This difference is not a change in the way PB2 operates, but is the result of a higher socket power limit. In short, the Ruilong processor will continue to improve performance until the trigger power or temperature limit. The temperature of the Ryzen 5950X is limited by the 142W PPT limit, while the Ryzen 7950X is more powerful, so it reaches the temperature limit before it reaches the 230W PPT limit.

If you want to compare similar products, set 7950X to the 105W TDP setting in the table above, and then check the PPT and temperature readings. You should be able to see that the temperature of the 7950X is well below 95 ℃, but the maximum power is 142W. Its score in Cinebench nT will also be significantly higher than that of 5950X, indicating the true efficiency and IPC improvement of 7950X in the process.

So remember:

95 degrees Celsius is the absolutely safe temperature for Ryzen 7000 series processors throughout the life cycle of the product.

A better radiator means better performance, but that doesn't mean you won't get a better experience than air cooling.

To sum up, buying a better radiator will not improve game performance, because temperature is not a limiting factor for the Ruilong 7000 series processors.
