The Guangzhou-Shantang high-speed railway is led from Xintang Station in Guangzhou to Zengcheng District under the jurisdiction of Guangzhou City and Boluo County, Huicheng District, Zhongkai High-tech Zone, Huiyang District and Huidong County under the jurisdiction of Huizhou City, as well as the Shenshan Cooperation Zone, Shanwei City and Haifeng County under the jurisdiction of Shenzhen City, to Shanwei Station of the Hangzhou-Shenzhen Railway. There are 8 stations in Xintang, Zengcheng South, Luofushan, Boluo, Huicheng South, Huidong, Shenshan and Shanwei.

CTOnews.com learned that the Guangzhou-Shantou high-speed railway, which began construction on June 30, 2019, is about 203km long and has a design speed of 350km per hour, which is an important part of the "Greater Bay area on the track" high-speed rail network.

When the Guangzhou-Shantou high-speed railway is completed and opened to traffic, it will connect the Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway, the Beijing-Hong Kong high-speed railway and the coastal railway, and further dense the railway network in the Greater Bay area. At that time, the fastest train running time from Guangzhou to Shanwei will be reduced from the current 2 hours to about 40 minutes, which will accelerate the integration of eastern Guangdong into Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, build a comprehensive transportation system in the Shenzhen-Shantou Special Cooperation Zone, and create a "one-hour life circle" in Guangzhou. it is of great significance to speed up the construction of Binhai New area and Industrial New City.
