CTOnews.com November 19 news, Wentai Technology's basic semiconductor device manufacturer Nexperia (Anshi Semiconductor) recently announced the expansion of its hot-swappable and soft-start ASFET product portfolio, the launch of 10 fully optimized 25V and 30V devices. The new device combines leading enhanced secure work area (SOA) performance with ultra-low RDS (on), making it ideal for 12V hot-swappable applications, including data center servers and communications devices.

Nexperia (Anshi Semiconductor) continues to enhance the performance of the key MOSFET (metal-oxide semiconductor field effect transistor) in the device to meet the requirements of specific applications to create a leading ASFET (ASFET is a MOSFET designed and optimized for a particular application). Since the launch of ASFET, product optimization upgrades for applications such as battery isolation (BMS), DC motor control, Power over Ethernet (POE) and automotive airbags have been successful.

Inrush current brings reliability challenges to hot-swappable applications. Nexperia (Anshi Semiconductor) makes a comprehensive upgrade specifically for these applications, designing an ASFET product portfolio for hot-swappable and soft-start applications, and enhancing SOA performance. Compared with the previous technology, the SOA (12V @ 100mS) performance of PSMNR67-30YLE ASFET is improved to 2.2 times, while the RDS (on) (maximum) is as low as 0.7m Ω. Compared to unoptimized devices, the new device not only eliminates the Spirito effect (a steeper diagonal downward curve in the more high voltage region represented by the SOA curve), but also maintains excellent performance over the entire voltage and temperature range.

Nexperia (Anshi Semiconductor) eliminates the need for thermal reduction design by fully characterizing the new devices at 125 ℃ and providing SOA data curves at high temperatures, thus providing further support for designers.

CTOnews.com has been informed that eight new products (3 25V and 5 30V) are now available in LFPAK56 or LFPAK56E packages, with RDS (on) ranging from 0.7m Ωto 2m Ωfor most hot-swappable and soft-boot applications. The other two 25V products have a lower RDS (on) of 0.5m Ωand are expected to be released in the coming months.
