CTOnews.com, November 19 (Xinhua) Geely Holdings Group and Polish manufacturer ElectroMobility Poland (EMP) announced a partnership on Thursday that Geely Holdings licensed its modular electric vehicle platform Hanhai SEA platform to the Polish government-backed car company.

"Poland plays an important role in the European car industry and I believe the agreement will accelerate the transition to the electric car era and create a wider range of economic opportunities in the electric vehicle sector," said Li Donghui, Geely CEO.

The two companies said they would use Geely's SEA platform to build IZERA series electric vehicles, which would also make it SEA's first outside customer.

According to reports, the first batch of vehicle positioning compact SUV will be produced at EMP's factory in Jaworzno in southern Poland. Details will be announced in due course.

Information shows that ElectroMobility Poland is of great significance in the Polish automotive industry, which is currently in the direction of electrification. In addition to the authorization of Geely, Geely Holdings will also become the technical partner of the IZERA brand series of models.

CTOnews.com learned that Geely launched the SEA platform in September 2020. The platform has flexibility and advanced technical architecture, covering hardware, software and a wide range of digital ecosystems. At present, some brand models such as Smart and Polar Krypton are built on this platform.

The platform is compatible with A-Class to E-Class vehicles and even commercial vehicles, with wheelbases ranging from 1800 mm to 3300 mm, while the IZERA brand will initially produce a compact SUV, the other two C-Class station wagons and hatchbacks.
