CTOnews.com November 18 news, the State Post Bureau today announced the operation of the postal industry in October 2022. From January to October, the postal industry completed a total of 113.52 billion pieces of mailing and delivery business, an increase of 4.5 percent over the same period last year. Among them, the total volume of express delivery business completed 89.87 billion pieces, an increase of 3.6% over the same period last year, and that of postal delivery services totaled 23.65 billion pieces, an increase of 8.1% over the same period last year.

From January to October, the volume of express delivery in the same city totaled 10.54 billion, down 7.0% from the same period last year; 77.76 billion in other places, up 5.6% from the same period last year; and 1.56 billion international / Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan business, down 10.1% from the same period last year.

From January to October, the business income of the postal industry (excluding the direct operating income of the Postal savings Bank) totaled 1.10789 trillion yuan, an increase of 6.9 percent over the same period last year. Of this total, the revenue from the express delivery business totaled 859.13 billion yuan, up 3.0 percent from the same period last year, and the revenue from postal delivery services totaled 32.23 billion yuan, up 1.9 percent from the same period last year.

CTOnews.com learned that in October, the postal industry mailed and delivered 12.21 billion pieces, down 0.7 per cent from a year earlier. Of this total, the volume of express delivery completed 9.86 billion pieces, down 0.9% from the same period last year, and the volume of postal delivery services completed 2.35 billion pieces, an increase of 0.1% over the same period last year.

In October, the business income of the postal industry (excluding the direct operating income of the Postal savings Bank) reached 112.79 billion yuan, an increase of 3.8% over the same period last year. Of this total, the revenue from the express delivery business reached 90.24 billion yuan, down 0.7% from the same period last year, while the revenue from the postal delivery service reached 3.04 billion yuan, down 9.4% from the same period last year.

From January to October, the volume of express delivery in the same city, other places, and international / Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan accounted for 11.7%, 86.5% and 1.8% of the total express business respectively, and the business income accounted for 6.5%, 49.3% and 10.8% of the total express business revenue, respectively. Compared with the same period last year, the proportion of express business in the same city decreased by 1.4 percentage points, the proportion of express business in other places increased by 1.6 percentage points, and the proportion of international / Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan business decreased by 0.2 percentage points.

From January to October, the proportion of express business volume in the eastern, central and western regions was 76.9%, 15.6% and 7.5% respectively, and the proportion of business income was 77.5%, 13.4% and 9.1%, respectively. Compared with the same period last year, the proportion of express business volume and revenue in the eastern region decreased by 1.4% and 0.7% respectively, while that in the central region increased by 1.2% and 0.5%, respectively. In the western region, the proportion of express business volume increased by 0.2%, and that of express business income increased by 0.2%.

From January to October, the brand concentration index of express delivery and parcel service CR8 was 84.8, which was basically the same as that in January-September.
