Employees who don't want to go to work to fish are not good cooks.

Since the emergence of the COVID-19 epidemic, the demand for telecommuting among office workers around the world has increased significantly, and everyone must have held no fewer online meetings in the past three years. How to optimize the meeting experience has also become what the major online office software has been doing. For example, ZOOM set off a craze to use high-definition images as the background for meetings, allowing users to "stay" in the game for meetings.

Officials have also integrated some third-party Mini Game, such as poker, Sanxiao, you draw and I guess, for users to pass the time before the meeting.

Microsoft has also tried to put users' real-time avatars in the same virtual space to simulate a real meeting environment.

But these measures seem to have only limited relief from the gloom of the online meeting itself. Now, Microsoft's office software has created a unique way to improve the meeting experience: you can have serious meetings while playing cards and minesweeping with your colleagues.

Microsoft Teams is a communication and collaboration software released by Microsoft in 2017. in order to improve the attendees' experience, in June this year, the Teams team and the casual games department of Xbox Studios began to add Games for Work (games for work) function to this office software, which is designed to enable you to fish fish confidently at work.

Recently, this function has launched four casual games, which are familiar with solitaire, minesweeping, and unfamiliar Wordament (crossword) and IceBreakers (ice breaking). All four games support multiple players, ranging from two to 250 players, and encourage colleagues to fight each other during the meeting.

In order for users to be able to touch the fish justifiably, Microsoft has already helped you find it. Microsoft cited a study by Brigham Young University as saying that teams that play Mini Game together are "20 per cent more efficient than those who participate in more traditional team-building activities". These four different types of games meet the different elements of teamwork, which can promote participants' cognition, cultivate empathy, encourage tolerance, unity and learn from each other.

For example, cards provide a competition that can be confronted head to head, encouraging players to compete for first place.

Minesweeping requires players to work together to clear the grid, encourage the team to solve problems and achieve goals quickly.

Crossword puzzles can easily accommodate large groups, allowing 250 participants to exercise their brains in crossword puzzles.

The icebreaker game will require answers to questions about colleagues, stimulate active and enthusiastic dialogue among colleagues, and promote mutual understanding and communication among teams.

Microsoft says games are an easy way to build connections and trust between teams, and can promote creativity, communication and collaboration in strong and unique ways.

However, the feature, called Games for Work, is currently limited to Microsoft Teams enterprise customers and has not yet been opened to individual users. For domestic users, Microsoft Teams is not a common office software, and there is no game function added to a certain meeting at present-but when people are in a meeting, they can only choose to touch the fish and mine alone.
