CTOnews.com, November 17 (Xinhua)-- Linux 6.1 added support for Microsoft Surface Pro 9 and Surface Laptop 5 in this week's platform-drivers-x86 submission merger.
The ID of the two devices has now been merged into Linux 6.1 with initial support for enabling battery and charger status, ACPI platform profile control, and HID devices. HID devices support touchpads, keyboards, sensors, and other devices including Surface Pro 9.
CTOnews.com learned that Microsoft Surface Pro 9 and Surface Laptop 5 were released in October this year, upgraded to Intel 12 Kerry processors, and merged the Surface Pro X product line. The rest has not changed much, running Windows 11 22H2 by default, but it seems to be running Linux well soon.
