Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
Thank you, Mr. Air, a netizen of CTOnews.com, for your clue delivery! CTOnews.com, November 17 (Xinhua) according to Nikkei News, Japan's JOLED (formed by the integration of Panasonic and Sony's OLED business) has developed a printed 65-inch OLED screen for the first time in the world using its own printing technology.
JOLED and China TCL's Huaxing Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. (CSOT), which started capital business cooperation in 2020, jointly produced the product, which will be in charge of mass production and sales in the future.
It is reported that the maximum size of the product was 32 inches, which was increased by wiring with low resistance copper and other methods.
JOLED is good at printing by using a device similar to an inkjet printer to coat the luminous material on the panel substrate. Compared with the evaporation method, which uses an expensive mask to attach the luminous material to the substrate, the printing equipment is simple and suitable for making large screens. According to the statistics of the survey companies, production costs can generally be reduced by about 30%.
In terms of screen quality, the color accuracy of the printing method is also high, which can increase the depth of the image. "the technology inherited from Panasonic and Sony laid the foundation for this breakthrough," said Ishibashi Ishibashi, president of JOLED.
CTOnews.com learned that JOLED, set up in 2015 under the leadership of the Japanese government, aims to develop OLED screens in Japan, but its performance has been in the doldrums. Although JOLED's plant in Ishikawa prefecture mass-produced OLED screens for the first time in the world in 2021, there was still a final loss of 23.9 billion yen (currently about 1.214 billion yuan) in fiscal year 2020 (as of March 2022).
In the global OLED market, South Korea's Samsung Electronics and LG show a high share. Samsung's share of shipments in 2021 was 60.1%, according to Omdia, a British research firm. JOLED hopes to use this technology to break the monopoly situation of South Korean enterprises.
