CTOnews.com, November 17, with the future office moving toward a hybrid model, online communication and collaboration tools have become more and more important. Microsoft today announced the launch of a licensing service called "Teams Shared Device" for enterprise users.

CTOnews.com learned that the Teams Shared Device license can be thought of as an upgraded version of Microsoft's existing Common Area Phone (CAP), covering more usage scenarios. The CAP license is mainly for those enterprises that need to use Teams equipment in business halls, reception and other occasions.

The new Teams Shared Device also provides services to customers using Teams Displays and Teams Panels on top of existing CAP capabilities. It is mainly aimed at customers who use the above devices but do not want to pay for other features of the Teams Rooms license.
