CTOnews.com November 17, HMD Global (Nokia Mobile) CEO Florian Seiche abruptly announced his resignation in October this year, and did not announce his successor.

According to the latest information, Jean-Francois Baril, one of the co-founders of HMD Global, will be the new CEO, and the post of HMD Global CEO has been added to his LinkedIn profile. Baril has yet to comment on his new position at HMD Global.

CTOnews.com learned that Florian Seiche has been HMD Globa's CEO since it was founded six years ago, but abruptly announced his resignation last month without giving a reason.

HMD provided Nokiamob with an internal statement of Florian Seiche's departure, saying that "Florian Seiche, HMD Global's chief executive, has left the HMD business to seek other opportunities. We would like to thank him for all he has done for HMD and wish him every success in the future."

Nokia is no longer what it used to be in smartphones, and HMD Global still has four years to use the Nokia brand, and when it expires, it can either renew its license or abandon it.
