CTOnews.com, Nov. 17 (Xinhua)-- Strategy Analytics released a report today that smartphone sales during this year's Singles Day online shopping festival in China were 9 million, down 35 percent from the same period last year. Apple consolidated its leadership, followed by Xiaomi and Glory.

Driven by the higher price of Apple's iPhone, online retail prices for smartphones rose to 4089 yuan, up 10 percent from a year earlier, but total revenue from online sales of smartphones still fell 29 percent to 36.8 billion yuan, the report said.

CTOnews.com learned that Strategy Analytics said Apple's iPhone sales reached nearly 3.5 million during the Singles Day holiday this year, down 27 per cent from the same period last year, but still better than the overall market, which was down 35 per cent from a year earlier. Apple's revenue is estimated to be 25.1 billion yuan, with a retail price of 7150 yuan.

According to reports, Apple ranks first in terms of sales share (39%) and revenue share (68%), while the share of Chinese brands has declined. The iPhone 14 series and iPhone 13 are the best-selling models, dominating the high-end market.

In addition, Xiaomi ranks second with 31 per cent of sales and 13 per cent of revenue and dominates the mid-market. Glory replaced OPPO and ranked third with 8 per cent of sales, up slightly from a year ago. In terms of revenue share, however, Glory gave up the third place to Huawei. Huawei's retail ASP reached 3800 yuan, accounting for 5% of revenue.

On the platform side, JD.com remained the main online platform during this year's Singles Day holiday with 45 per cent of smartphone sales, followed by Tmall and Taobao with a combined market share of 34 per cent.
