CTOnews.com November 17 news, Apple yesterday pushed watchOS 9.2 developer preview Beta 3 update (build number: 20S5348d) to Apple Watch users. MacRumors reports that Apple has added a new Race Route feature to the Workout app.

MacRumorsRace Route is designed for running and cycling users, allowing users to compete with themselves on routes that have been completed and recorded as outdoor runs or rides on Apple Watch. Users can race against their best or last score on any frequently completed outdoor run route, and the feature also provides pace guidance during training.

Later this year, Race Route will be compatible with Apple Watch Series 4 and later. The upcoming release of watchOS 9.2 may also include Track Detection, which automatically detects when a user arrives at a runway and combines Apple Maps data with GPS to provide a more accurate route map and more accurate pace and distance metrics.
