Beijing, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) Tesla board member James Murdoch (James Murdoch) said on Wednesday that Elon Musk recently raised the possibility of someone else taking over as Tesla's CEO.

Mr Musk testified in court for his high pay. Mr Murdoch made the remarks while testifying in court to defend the $56 billion salary awarded to Mr Musk by Tesla. He said Mr Musk had identified a potential successor to Tesla's CEO in recent months.

Mr Murdoch did not elaborate on who the potential successor was, but his comments suggest that Mr Musk may be considering the next chapter of Tesla. Just last year, Musk said Tesla had no succession plan.

Meanwhile, Mr Musk testified in court on Wednesday that he did not want to be the CEO of Tesla or the CEO of any company, and that he was more concerned with the role of engineer.

Tesla had no comment.
