CTOnews.com In a recent interview with CBS Morning, Apple CEO Tim Cook talked about a number of topics, including the launch of satellite emergency help in the iPhone 14 series today, the future of Twitter, App Store trends, and plans after stepping down as CEO.

In response to the satellite emergency help feature introduced in the iPhone 14 series, Cook said:

I usually like to climb mountains and wade, so I often go to places without signal coverage. While these places provide an undisturbed environment, we still need to contact others in an emergency.

For example, if you go to the National Parks in the United States, which have little cell phone coverage but are popular with many people, it will feel very good to stay in communication with satellites 100 miles away and traveling at 15,000 miles per hour after an emergency.

CTOnews.com understands that Cook also addressed Apple's stance on privacy, arguing that a company should not collect large amounts of information [user data] to transfer to the cloud to help it do certain things, but should collect only minimal user data to better provide services.
