Beijing, November 16 (Xinhua) Tesla told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that it reported two more fatal Model 3 accidents involving Tesla's advanced auxiliary driving system in the month ending October 15, according to data released on the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website on Tuesday.

Model 3 "NHTSA has reviewed these incidents and is following up as appropriate. NHTSA uses a number of data sources in the law enforcement process." NHTSA said. In June this year, NHTSA began to release accident report data provided by automakers related to the assisted driving system, such as Tesla's self-assisted driving system (Autopilot).

Of the 18 fatal accidents related to driving assistance systems reported since July 2021, almost all are related to Tesla cars. Since 2016, NHTSA has launched 38 special investigations into accidents involving Tesla's car, which are suspected of using Autopilot. In the investigation of car accidents related to Tesla, a total of 19 people were killed.

On November 5 this year, a Tesla also had a fatal accident in Chaozhou, Guangdong Province. A Model Y was suddenly driving at high speed, resulting in two deaths and three injuries. Tesla and the family members of the car owner have their own opinions on the cause of the accident. The owner's family said publicly that the owner, who had more than 20 years of driving experience, slammed on the brakes but failed to slow down at the time of the accident. Tesla pointed out that the owner of the accident did not put on the brakes throughout the accident.
