OPPO said that it will carry the new second-generation Snapdragon 8 flagship mobile platform in the next generation of Find X flagship products, bringing a jump in video, game performance and connectivity, and providing users around the world with a more excellent mobile product experience.

For this cooperation, Liu Zuohu, chief product officer of OPPO and founder of one plus, said that relying on OPPO's long-term technology accumulation in the field of graphics processing and AI, as well as the strong performance brought by the second generation of Snapdragon 8 flagship mobile platform, OPPO and Qualcomm Technologies successfully broke through the landing application of ray tracing technology and Google Cloud Vertex AI NAS technology on mobile phones.

CTOnews.com learned that Snapdragon 8 Gen2 was manufactured by 4nm process, using one Kryo super-large core based on Cortex-X3, main frequency 3.2GHz, 4 performance cores (2 x Cortex A715 + 2 x Cortex A710, all 2.8GHz) and 3 Cortex-A510 energy efficiency nuclei (small core, frequency 2.0GHz). Compared with Snapdragon 8, the final CPU performance is improved by 35% and the power consumption is reduced by 40%. The new generation of Adreno GPU has a 25% increase in performance and a 45% reduction in power consumption. It supports Vulkan 1.3 and hardware-level ray tracing technology.

Snapdragon 8 Gen2 integrates the new Hexagon processor, the tensor unit is greatly enhanced, and the performance of some scenarios is claimed to be improved by 4.35x. Equipped with X705G baseband and the new FastConnect 7800 unit, it supports 5G dual card and dual access (highest downlink 10Gbps), Wi-Fi 7 (maximum 5.8Gbps, double Wi-Fi 6), Bluetooth 5.3, Bluetooth LE audio, 48kHz lossless audio, space audio, etc.

In addition, the new perceptual ISP (three 18bit) supports Samsung and Sony's latest CMOS, with a maximum of 200 megapixels and up to 8K 30p or 4K 120p video capture.

The first batch of Snapdragon 8 Gen2 will be carried in Xiaomi, Hongmi, Glory, iQOO, Yijia, OV and other manufacturers, and the new phones will be launched one after another at the end of 2022.
