Compared with Snapdragon 8, the final CPU performance is improved by 35% and the power consumption is reduced by 40%. The new generation of Adreno GPU has a 25% increase in performance and a 45% reduction in power consumption. It supports Vulkan 1.3 and hardware-level ray tracing technology.

Snapdragon 8 Gen2 integrates the new Hexagon processor, the tensor unit is greatly enhanced, and the performance of some scenarios is claimed to be improved by 4.35x. Equipped with X705G baseband and the new FastConnect 7800 unit, it supports 5G dual card and dual access (highest downlink 10Gbps), Wi-Fi 7 (maximum 5.8Gbps, double Wi-Fi 6), Bluetooth 5.3, Bluetooth LE audio, 48kHz lossless audio, space audio, etc.

In addition, the new perceptual ISP (three 18bit) supports Samsung and Sony's latest CMOS, with a maximum of 200 megapixels and up to 8K 30p or 4K 120p video capture.

The first batch of Snapdragon 8 Gen2 will be carried in Xiaomi, Hongmi, Glory, iQOO, Yijia, OV and other manufacturers, and the new phones will be launched one after another at the end of 2022.
