According to reports, from the scope of application, definition of terms, test conditions, test system, test methods and other dimensions, the standard stipulates the testing methods of optical performance parameters such as HUD field of view angle, brightness, distortion, white balance error, and establishes a scientific and comprehensive testing process.

In the process of driving, HUD can project important driving information to the windshield in front of the driver, so that the driver can see information images such as speed and navigation without bowing or turning his head as far as possible, which greatly reduces the safety risks in the driving process.

Since the completion of the first real car application of AR-HUD in China in 2018, BOE has participated in the landing practice of AR-HUD in many car companies, continuously promoting the standardization and standardization of HUD.

CTOnews.com learned that in July 2022, JD.com joined hands with BAIC to complete the first Rubik's cube model in China with large-size AR-HUD and electronic rearview mirror. It has an AR-HUD projection area of more than 60 inches, a 10 °× 4 °ultra-wide field angle and 15000nits super brightness, and a virtual image distance of more than 8 meters. Before, the windshield was used as a display screen to integrate navigation, ADAS, instrumentation and other digital information with real traffic conditions. Even in the driving environment illuminated by strong light, it can show a real display effect.
