CTOnews.com, Nov. 15, Microsoft admitted that several Windows devices had problems related to Kerberos certification after installing the November update. Kerberos authentication is a computer network security protocol used to verify service requests from two or more trusted hosts on an untrusted network, such as the Internet.

Microsoft wrote in its update log:

Authentication problems occur when users use Kerberos after installing updates on and after November 8, 2022 on Windows servers with the domain controller role. This issue may affect all authentication operations in the current environment.

When this problem is encountered, the event log of the domain controller records the Microsoft-Windows-Kerberos-Key-Distribution-Center event ID 14 "with a literal description of" the missing key has an ID of 1 ".

Microsoft said that the above problems occur in many authentication scenarios, including domain user login failure (which may affect active Directory Alliance service authentication), group management service account authentication failure for services such as Internet information services, remote desktop connection failure using domain users, access failure to workstation shared folders and server file shares, and printing failures related to domain user authentication.
