Thank CTOnews.com netizens for the delivery of vegetable clues! CTOnews.com, November 15 (Xinhua)-- the urban air traffic team of Hyundai Motor Group of Korea will build an advanced air traffic ecosystem in Nusantara, the future capital of Indonesia, to jointly promote the local future aviation mobility (AAM,Advanced Air Mobility) cause.

According to reports, AAM is a use case based on the concept of UAM combined with operations in the urban environment, while Urban Air Traffic (UAM) is an ecosystem involving passenger vehicles flying in urban areas.

Indonesia is made up of more than 18000 islands, has the largest aviation market in Southeast Asia, and is known as the most suitable area for building AAM. Hyundai expects that Indonesia's high-level infrastructure and technology in the aviation industry will help the company develop an ecosystem for AAM and plans to expand its business to the global market after results are achieved in Indonesia.

According to the MOU signed during the B20 Summit in Bali on November 14, Hyundai Motor will work with the Capital Office, which is responsible for managing and governing Nusantara, to introduce AAM as part of the new capital's smart mobile ecosystem, located on the east coast of Borneo Island.

According to the agreement, the two sides will cooperate on the establishment of the concept of land-air integration, the testing of advanced air vehicles, and the construction of related infrastructure and ecosystems.

Earlier this year, the Indonesian government announced a plan to move its capital from Jakarta, Java, to Nusantara, a "forest city" on the island of Borneo, at a cost of $33 billion to build a new city. the whole relocation project is expected to take nearly a decade.

CTOnews.com learned that Hyundai Aviation subsidiary Supernal unveiled its five-seat electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) concept aircraft at a UK trade show in July. They hope to provide electric air traffic products for freight by 2026 and electric air traffic products for passengers by 2028.

Supernal's pure electric eVTOL aerial taxi is designed for intra-city passenger transport, while Hyundai says South Korean engineers are developing a hydrogen-powered medium-sized vehicle for city-to-city freight and passenger transport.

Hyundai said it would develop a roadmap and review the concepts of ground and AAM, as well as AAM demonstration projects and test flights.
