However, on the whole, the situation of sustained industrial recovery has not changed, showing a strong toughness, which mainly has the following characteristics:

First, industrial production continues to recover. In October, large-scale industries grew by 5% year-on-year, down from the previous month, but still faster than in July and August, and 0.2% faster than industrial production in the third quarter. From a cumulative point of view, industries above scale increased by 4% from January to October compared with the same period last year, 0.1 percentage points faster than in January-September. Judging from the month-on-month situation, industries above scale increased by 0.33% month-on-month in October, continuing to maintain the growth trend.

Second, the supporting role of the equipment manufacturing industry is more obvious. In October, the equipment manufacturing industry grew 9.2% year-on-year, significantly faster than the full-scale industry, of which the automobile and electronics industries with longer industrial chains increased by 18.7% and 9.4% respectively, giving a strong boost to the upstream and downstream industries. We see that the added value of the electrical and machinery industry, which is closely related to the automobile industry, increased by 16.3% compared with the same period last year.

Third, the growth of high-tech manufacturing industry is good. The development trend of industrial upgrading in China continues, and the high-tech manufacturing industry with high technology content and high added value continues to grow rapidly. In October, high-tech manufacturing grew 10.6% from a year earlier, 1.3 percentage points faster than in September. With the rapid development of information and communications, the production and output of related industries have maintained rapid growth. In October, the added value of the electronics and communications equipment manufacturing industry increased by 16.6% compared with the same period last year. The output of mobile communication base station equipment and 5G smartphones increased by 2.8 times and 18.4%, respectively.

Fourth, the development of green intelligence leads to the continuous emergence. With the continuous promotion of green development in China, green energy products continue to emerge and maintain rapid growth. In October, the output of new energy vehicles, charging piles and photovoltaic cells increased by 84.8%, 81.4% and 69.9% respectively compared with the same period last year. The intelligent transformation of production is also deepening, and the drive to related industries and products is also increasing. In October, the output of industrial control computers and systems and industrial robots increased by 44.7% and 14.4% respectively compared with the same period last year.
